Sara Krauskopf – 7th/8th Grade Teacher

Sara KrauskopfSara comes to us with 11 years of experience teaching high school biology, general science and environmental science (ten years at Madison East High School), earning a Herb Kohl Teaching Fellowship in 2005. She received her B.A. in Biology from Carleton College and an M.S. in Science Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Throughout her career she has worked in curriculum and teacher development programs both in the United States and Latin America. Her first teaching position was actually in Honduras, where she taught grade 2-8 science at a bilingual school. Before joining the Badger Rock staff, she worked as the Associate Director of Education and Outreach at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center at UW-Madison, informing the public, writing curriculum and training teachers on the potential for sustainable biofuels.

Sara was honored to be chosen as one of the full time educators in the opening year of the school and is very excited to work in the classroom to focus on project-based learning and inquiry that integrate science with social issues, writing, and mathematics. Her primary teaching duties at Badger Rock are math, science and field biology.
